My apartment abuts the WSU intramural field, which means I have a huge backyard and plenty of visible sky. It also means that the southwest facing rooms get a lot of sunlight, and I LOVE it! I feel like one of my cats, always searching for a puddle of sunlight to melt into. Sunshine makes me happy because it gives me Vitamin D (which improves Ca/P absorption), stimulates my hypothalamus (which prevents depression), and it means summer is coming. Sure, it’s a good 4 months away, but still! There is hope! As a westsider I’m used to overcast skies with sunbreaks every once in a while, followed by rain. Here on the eastside we get whole hours of sunshine, which then reflects off of the lingering snow patches and blinds us. People think you don’t need shades in the winter. They are wrong.
Today looks like this.
